Welcome to my SEO Challenge Entry Page

Everyone knows that Google has changed the way they rank sites, therefore a competition titled "SEO Challenge" has been organised. This is to sort the Players from the Stayers when it comes to getting the number one spot at Google. "Nigritude Ultramarine" has been chosen as the key phrase that must be used to optimise your site, a phrase that is not commercial in nature and currently has no results so as not to interfere with regular Google search results.

The Challenge Logo must be present on all ranking pages, and the competition is judged at two different stages with prizes awarded to the Player and the Stayer. The competition runs from the 7th of May to the 7th of July.

08 July 2004 - Bonus Prize

11:15:22 - I may not have got the top position, but I managed to scoop up one of the bonus prizes instead! This challenge page was given the "Best Blog Award", which means I get to have the R/C Hovercraft. Fantastique!

07 July 2004 - Google Position

10:22:37 - That's all folks! The contest is now over. I've just checked to see if Google indexed me again, and to my surprise I see myself at #14! I'll have to wait until the official position's are made available to see what my final ranking place was, but it's not been a bad last minute effort. Well done everyone!

06 July 2004 - Google Position

13:39:15 - Google has suddenly dropped my entry page from the index altogether, hey thanks! Hopefully it'll reappear again some time soon.

10:26:02 - With less than a day to go, I've managed to gradually make my way back up the ranks to #23. This was mainly down to optimising page code, the link structure, and getting more quality IBL's.
